About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and in training to be a Certified Sex Therapist (CST). Though a native of Chicago, I received my B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College in New York and my MSW at Simmons School of Social Work in Boston. I began my career working in Boston and have over 10 years of experience.
My practice is informed by psychodynamic theories. I believe the individuals have the innate capacity to solve their problems but that they need new skills and new understandings and insight to meet the challenges they face. Typically I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which works to change ones thoughts that impact mood and behavior. As well, I utilize aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) including mindfulness. Though these are the two main therapies I use I am always learning and will find new tools to help meet the needs of those who seek my help.
My role in the therapeutic relationship is to create an accepting and non-judgmental environment and to help you toward self-acceptance and growth. I am a LGBTQ community affirming therapist. As part of my work towards my certification as a sex therapist, I am becoming Kink and Poly aware though I also realize I have more to learn and will always be learning. I am honored that I am entrusted with one's vulnerabilities as we work together to make positive change.
